2024 Summer Concert Series
Please note: Our second concert, initially scheduled for August 18th, was canceled due to threatening weather that day. It has been rescheduled for next Sunday, August 25th, and will now feature the “Lasater Union” band, replacing the “Whiskey Dan Band” in our lineup, as they are unavailable that day. Suffice it to say, we are looking forward to better weather this weekend and to seeing you all there!
On Sunday, July 28th hundreds of spectators on all kinds of watercraft surrounded the Point to see and hear “On The Border, the Ultimate Eagles Tribute” band.
The July weather could not have been any better for the first of our three-event concert series on High Rock Lake. “Take it Easy” brought true meaning to lake life, sitting, sipping, swimming, and enjoying live music lakeside with friends and family.
“On The Border” played a host of the Eagles’ top hits and even performed a few other covers from various rock bands for more than three hours to the delight of the larger-than-anticipated crowd.
“It’s all about community and getting to know your neighbors while enjoying a free concert with a great band and great crowd! It was a safe and fun day on the lake. This is the best way to promote High Rock Lake, for both counties and all that the HRLA does for the long-term betterment of our natural resource,” shared Greg Edds, Rowan County Commissioner and HRLA Board member.
Summer lake recreation and live music go hand in hand (or hand to paddle, as the case may be), and these events offer a great way to celebrate the High Rock Association’s 70th anniversary while engaging our current members, introducing the HRLA to new homeowners, or simply introducing ourselves to others who love the lake as we all do.
The boat traffic at the event was monitored by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Department, NC Wildlife, and Miller’s Ferry Fire Department without incident.
